Raed Al-Juraibi, Senior Deputy Governor of Socotra, and Sultan Ali Issa bin Afrar Chairman of the Development Committee, inaugurated today 12 new classrooms at the Ali bin Abi Talib School in Dihed district, with the support of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
The opening, which took place in the presence of the Director-General of the Education Office, Ahmed Ibrahim Khaled, Counselor/ Ahmed Abdel Moneim, and the Director of Education of Hadibouh District, Fouad Ali Saeed, witnessed the participation of a large number of sheikhs, dignitaries and teachers from the areas of the western coastal strip of the island, because of the school’s great importance to the region in accommodating their children and reducing student overcrowding in schools.
During the opening, the attendees toured the new classrooms, which were built with high engineering specifications and equipped with school furniture such as tables and chairs for students.
In a statement to Socotra Online, through the governorate’s senior representative, Raed Al-Juraibi, expressed his great happiness at the opening of 12 new classrooms equipped with school furniture at Ali bin Abi Talib School, funded by the Khalifa Humanitarian Foundation, which contributes to raising the school’s absorptive capacity and ends the problem of overcrowding that it suffered in the past. .
He pointed out that the area of Dehed is one of the areas from which many leaders who have a great role in leading the governorate and serving it, including the deceased of Socotra and the homeland, Mr. Ahmed bin Hamdoun, left, and it continues to provide the best of its children in various sectors on the island.
Al-Juraibi praised the role of the Khalifa Foundation in supporting various sectors of life in the archipelago, especially the education sector, which witnessed stability and development in light of its continuous support, as well as the rehabilitation of a constellation of students for university studies to serve the island and advance its reality to the best.
For his part, the Director of Education in the Hadiboh District, Fouad Ali Saeed, valued the UAE’s continuous support to the education sector in Socotra and meeting its most basic requirements to maintain its stability.
Today, the expansion and addition of 12 new classrooms equipped with school furniture was opened at Ali Bin Abi Talib School in Badihed, which has an effective impact on reducing overcrowding in the school, which includes a large number of areas of the western coastal strip, a step that brought happiness to the faces of education sector officials, parents, teachers and students on this joyful day .
The Director of Education, Hadiboh, said that the Emirati support included a lot in the educational sector, including the sponsorship of contracting with more than 400 teachers to fill the shortage of teachers in schools, adding many classrooms in schools, providing school furniture and transportation for students, and sending outstanding students to study abroad, and this represents an essential axis in the success of the process.
At the beginning of the inauguration, the director of Ali Bin Abi Talib School, Mr. Ali Ahmed Haji, welcomed all the attendees from the local authority, the Khalifa Foundation and the Education Office for their participation in the opening of 12 new classrooms in the school, which was equipped with all its requirements, expressing his thanks to the Khalifa Foundation for this support. The great school, which is witnessing a large turnout of students from the coastal strip areas.
Counselor Ahmed Abdel Moneim also launched a campaign to distribute the textbooks for school students, provided by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Foundation, with 2,325 books for the Ali Bin Abi Talib School.
