With support from the United Arab Emirates, concrete foundations for the solar power plant in Qalansiyah have been completed. Engineer Hussam Gadoon, Scan Electromechanical Company, highlighted that completion of concrete foundations with a total number of 560 foundations have been completed under supervision of experts in accordance with the agreed specifications taking into consideration weather fluctuations. It was worth noting that 1,700 solar panels would be installed to provide an alternative energy for the Island.
Contractor Saleh Malek confirmed that this project was one of the most important service project that would maintain environment of Socotra, and the fact that operations were executed under supervision of specialized experts and engineers.
It was worth noting that the alternative energy project was implemented in the biggest city in Socotra, Hadiboh and Satorah. It was expected that the plant would be operated during the following month.
