With Popular Participation, Comprehensive Cleaning Campaign in Hadiboh by Development Committee at Khalifa Foundation

Yesterday, the Development Committee at Khalifa Foundation implemented a comprehensive cleaning campaign in the capital Hadiboh. Many social influencers and security and military leaders in association with large number of people participated in the campaign aiming at removal of plastic and paper waster from streets of the capital Hadiboh for keeping it clean. Tens of tons of waste were removed to an allocated dump for its disposition.

Team of Socotra Online was present during the launch of the campaign to reflect opinions of the participants and its psychological and health impact on the community of Socotra. Engineer Raafat Al Thiqali said that they started in front of the building of college of community with call by Development Council in Socotra and support of Khalifa Foundation, which afforded a great effort for clean Hadiboh. He also thanked and expressed his deep appreciation to Khalifa Foundation and all participants.

In this regard, Salem Daheq, Member at Development Committee, highlighted that the call targeted all community groups for clean Hadiboh with support of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation. He also highlighted that the campaign focused on the capital Hadiboh due to the large amount of garbage and waste in streets, and the fact that it would be considered as the image of Socotra.

Sheikh Ahmed Ghaleb Al Shamsi assured that the campaign was very important for clean streets free of waste, and it would contribute to raise awareness among different groups of community of Socotra.

Sheikh Rashed Abas expressed his happiness for such campaign in Hadiboh for its revival, and commended the role of the Development Committee at Khalifa Foundation for such initiative. He also thanked Khalifa Foundation and all participants.

Brigadier General Mohamed Murshed, Leader of special forces, highlighted that participation in this national campaign would be considered as a duty for clean streets and healthy community. He also praised the effort of the community in removal of such amount of waste for protection of people from infections.
