With an Official and Popular Presence, Khalifa Foundation inaugurates the Rehabilitation Work of the Socotra Technical and Vocational Institute

The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation inaugurated yesterday the rehabilitation, construction and equipment works of the Socotra Technical and Vocational Institute in Socotra Governorate.

The inauguration process witnessed a large official and social presence, presented by Raed Al-Jaribi, the Senior Deputy Governor of the governorate; Brigadier General Saleh Ali, the deputy of the governorate; Abdullah Al-Maawali, the director of technical education and vocational training; Sultan Ali bin Issa bin Afrar, the head of the Development Committee; and a number of general managers, sheikhs and knowers of regions and tribes.

The Counsel/ Dr. Ahmed Abdel Moneim gave an explanation to the attendees about the center and its technical and professional specializations for the first time to be opened on the island, which would contribute to providing the requirements of the local market with qualified cadres in technical and professional aspects, contribute to eliminating unemployment and encourage students to learn to obtain suitable job opportunities.

Raid Al-Juraibi, The Senior Deputy Governor of the governorate, expressed his happiness to attend the opening of the Socotra Technical and Vocational Institute, which is a new educational achievement for the governorate, with the support of the Khalifa Foundation, which would always found great interest in education at all levels, basic, secondary, university, technical and vocational, to break the isolation of education from the people of the governorate and encourage them to continue their education.

He pointed out that the Socotra Technical and Vocational Institute would be considered as the great gateway for finding a qualified educational cadre from the people of the province capable of contributing to the renaissance of Socotra and its distinction and changing the reality of the province for the better.

Al-Juraibi valued this distinguished step by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Foundation, which was one of the most important educational steps that the labor market is full of with specialized and qualified cadres scientifically and practically.

For his part, Abdullah Al-Maawali, Director-General of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Office, said that they were happy for the launch of the preparatory and rehabilitating work at the Socotra Technical and Vocational Institute, which was the first of its kind on the island.

Al-Maawali expressed his high appreciation to the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for its great support to the education sector, including higher education, technical and vocational education, which encouraged students to continue their education.
