The construction work of the Rabdan Sports and Cultural Stadium project in Sheikh Zayed City 1 Seteroh, south of Socotra Island, is proceeding at an accelerating pace to prepare the project to host the upcoming sports and cultural events.
The project, which is being built with the support of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, covers an area of 18,000 square meters, and includes seats for the masses, seats for VIPs, changing rooms, a restroom for sports teams, a referees’ room and a storeroom. It also includes a traditional folk market with all the stages attached to it.
The project works to serve the youth, sports and cultural sectors in the governorate, Sheikh Zayed City 1 Seteroh and the surrounding areas more by organizing sports and cultural activities in a stadium equipped for football competitions and cultural events.
Rabdan Stadium is one of the largest sports and cultural projects at the governorate level, and its implementation in Sheikh Zayed City 1 is important as it is one of the densely populated cities. The implementation of such projects in it contributes to serving a large number of young people and refining their abilities, in addition to the importance it represents in preserving the diverse cultural heritage. The island and the Seteroh region in particular abound.

He pointed out that through our knowledge of the designs of the project, we did not expect to own such well-prepared stadiums, which reflected the extent of the great interest the UAE gives to the youth sector in Socotra and their presence fulfilled many of the aspirations and wishes of the people of Socotra.
The identifier of the village center and the head of the Al Sharq Sports and Cultural Club, Sheikh Osan Jamaan Sioufi, indicated that the establishment of Rabdan Stadium represents a qualitative leap for the sports and cultural sector on the island in general, and the areas of Nujed and Sheikh Zayed City 1 in particular, because of the works it includes for the first time in the archipelago.
Sioufi praised the efforts made by the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Works in implementing the project and their keenness to speed up its completion to serve the youth and sports sectors.
Sheikh Saad Issa, the identifier of the regions of their baptism, pointed out that the continuous support provided by the UAE on the island, which included all sectors, including the sports sector, which stands today in front of the completion of one of the largest projects in the governorate, represented by a sports and cultural stadium, and its various pursuits that serve the two sectors in a large way, especially the young and eager youth. Next July, the Rabdan Sports and Cultural Stadium will host the activities of the Sixth Sheikh Zayed Festival, which includes a variety of cultural, heritage and sports activities that will last for two months. Its activities will conclude with the annual mass wedding of Socotra youth and girls.
