A Ministerial Committee of Yemeni Ministry of Higher Education arrived to Socotra today on Monday, October 12, 2020. The Committee was concerned with studying feasibility of opening the university and making sure of availability of the required physical structures and human resources. The Ministerial Committee met Mr. Raid Al Juraibi, Senior Undersecretary of Socotra Governorate after visiting the university building and its different sections.
It was worth noting that Khalifa Foundation established the International University in Socotra in Hadiboh, the capital of Socotra, in line with its developmental projects to support eduction sector in Socotra.
This academic achievement would be added to the series of education projects and studying missions supported by Khalifa Foundation in Socotra to keep up with age requirements.
The International University in Socotra would be considered as the first of kind, and would be one of the internationally recognized universities across the Arab world. It would significantly contribute to provision of university education opportunities in different major, which would be beneficial to people of Socotra and their future.
