Humanitarian hands of the United Arab Emirates (Emirates Red Crescent and Khalifa Foundation) added spirit of continuous activity in Socotra, which drew smiles on faces of people of Socotra with few days to “Ramadan”.
Several assistance materials have arrived to people of Socotra, and it was worth noting that teams of Khalifa Foundation worked hard to reach to all remote districts and villages to deliver assistance to people across Socotra, which was largely welcomed by the people.
There were several events during the last days, which were witnessed by officials in Socotra, starting with delivering new batch of vehicles to Socotra Police in line with the continuous efforts to support security and stability in Socotra.
In addition, there was the celebration of graduation of the second batch of the Community College for the academic year 2019/ 2020, which was supported by Khalifa Foundation, and which was largely welcomed and appreciated by people of Socotra and parents of students. In the celebration, administration of the College expressed appreciation to Khalifa Foundation for the great concern with education in Socotra.
Furthermore, Khalifa Foundation launched distribution of water tanks to families across Abd Al Kuri Island in addition to water desalination machines, which made people of Abd Al Kuri happy, as this initiative would be significantly reflected on their life after long-term suffering during the last period.
People of Socotra also witness development and renovation of Socotra International Airport to become a distinguished airport that would reflect image of Socotra to people across the world.
In another initiative, Khalifa Foundation transported Sheikha Abdul Qader, a child suffering from heart valve disease from Abd Al Kuri Island to Khalifa Hospital in Socotra to be prepared for transporting to the United Arab Emirates to be treated in there on expense of Khalifa Foundation.
With official and people presence, Ataya Model School organized a celebration of Mother’s Day to celebrate honoring of all mothers around the world, which included artistic and theater shows.
