Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation concerned with the sports sector in Socotra with unprecedented improvement in sports, which contributed to motivation of sport activities through implementation of large number of sport events annually since its humanitarian and developmental support to Socotra in 2016.
Captain Ismail Al Junaibi, Sports Official at Khalifa Foundation, highlighted that achievements of the Foundation were in different sectors, but the sports sector was under concern with the Foundation, as it used to implement many sport events annually such as (public league, football championship, beach volleyball championship, seven-side football championship, Nujed Autumn Championship).
He also added that the Foundation supported sports sector through provision of budgets for football association office in Socotra as well as sport clothes and equipment.
In respect of qualification and training, he said that the Foundation, in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Sports Council, organized many courses for referees, trainers and administrators of the football association and clubs.
