The Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital on Socotra Island has enjoyed unlimited UAE support since its establishment in 2012 to provide health and medical services to the people of the island.
The United Arab Emirates, represented by its humanitarian hand, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, was keen to gradually transfer the hospital to advanced levels of services and patient care in line with the increase in the population, through expansion stages and opening new departments for the first time in the archipelago to reduce the burdens of patients from traveling outside Island for treatment.
Sheikh Khalifa Hospital is the mother hospital on the island of Socotra, which provides all health and treatment services and all laboratory tests with highly qualified local and foreign medical staff.
Where the Foundation has rehabilitated the hospital and expanded various departments, including (addition, laboratory, outpatient clinics and doctors housing, in addition to opening a dialysis unit, emergency department, operations and intensive care department, as well as a CT scan department), in addition to providing advanced modern medical devices, solutions and medicines in order to improve the hospital service provided for the people of Socotra Island.
Khalifa Foundation was also always keen to transfer difficult and emergency cases such as traffic accidents and others to the United Arab Emirates to receive the necessary treatment at its expense, and it was one of the services that greatly helped the people of Socotra and alleviated their suffering.
