With UAE support, Dexam Power Company commenced extension of underground power cables for Saqaseq and the neighboring district with support of Khalifa Foundation.
This was in preparation for implementation of the project through the plan of Khalifa Foundation relating to providing all units, districts and villages in the Socotra Archipelago with electricity as one of the most important services.
Engineer Eyad Sultan, Networks Director in Dexam Power, highlighted that the company would commence extension of power cables in Saqaseq as an initial phase for the project after completion of feasibilities. He also highlighted that the project would include a high voltage network with an area of a kilometer with 2 generators with 750 kva capacity. Furthermore, he mentioned that the project would benefit 85 houses in the three districts and two schools. It was expected that houses would increase after provision of electicity.
