Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation sent food assistance vehicles to the west coast areas in Socotra as an initiative supported by the United Arab Emirates.
The food assistance vehicles arrived during the third day of Ramadan with field teams in order to help the people in arrangement of the food requirements.
The assistance teams targeted more than 243 families in parts of villages and districts in the west coast such as Ablahen, Salmho, Sendafa, Shart, and Arsemo.
In a statement to Socotra Online, Sheikh Ahmed Ghalib bin Yaqoob, Head of tribal union in the west coast, commended the role of the United Arab Emirates and Khalifa Foundation in supporting different districts and villages in Socotra.
Sheikh Mohamed Ahmed Hashlahl expressed happiness and joy of the people for such humanitarian support by the United Arab Emirates, which arrived during the first few days of Ramadan within these hard conditions. He also expressed appreciation of sheikhs of districts to the United Arab Emirates and Khalifa Foundation for such humanitarian initiative.
Sheikh Said Qayhan Barhan expressed his thanks to the field teams for working in these summer conditions while fasting in order to hand over the food assistance to the people.
