After a successful ending of the 3rd Nujed Heritage Festival 2020 after two months of continuous events in Zayed City 1 in Socotra with support of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation,
During the final celebration, the Festival Administration honored the participants in different events in Nujed Heritage Festival. The honoring celebration included all shows of camels racing, camels jumping, milking competition, camels journey across Socotra, handicrafts, marine tent, Socotra cook competition, artistic and folklore bands, service and assisting committees.
Festival Administration commended the outstanding role of the participants and committees in relation with preparation and complying with rules, regulations and timing, which resulted in a successful remarkable festival, which was welcomed by the visitors from countries across the world. The Festival Administration highlighted that Khalifa Foundation would continue its sponsorship and concern with such heritage activities aiming at recording and gathering the heritage activities to get the whole world acquainted with the characteristics of the Island.
In this regard, the participants and the service committees expressed their happiness and joy for success of the Festival, which was largely welcomed by the visitors during the days of the festival. They also asserted that the Festival achieved many targets in relation with spreading the heritage of Socotra around the world.
It was worth noting that the Festival launched in July with various activities and competitions in addition to “Poet of Socotra” Competition and the 3rd Collective Wedding for 200 bridegrooms and grooms with blessing of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyah, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Supreme Deputy Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces.
