The UAE developmental projects in Socotra Port contributed to achieve a high quality transformation to provide 99% of needs of Socotra Archipelago through expansion of shipping and discharge operations to ensure all requirements of the local market.
The developmental projects included expansion of the wharf with a length of 90m and width 22m in addition to setting regulations and articles of association of the port and customs and under keel clearance with a depth of 4m for ships anchoring.
These developmental steps were largely welcomed by people of Socotra, as they expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates for exiting the Island from its isolation to keep up with the 21st century.
