In line with the approach settled by the Founder Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, of provision of all types of assistance to the poor and needy to meet their needs and requirements, People of the United Arab Emirates has been on the top of the list worldwide in relation with humanitarian and developmental assistances to countries around the world during the recent years.
The Socotra Archipelago has witnessed a large number of developmental and service projects and assistance initiatives. Khalifa Foundation has sent many ships and tanks with UAE assistance to Socotra including food assistance, medicine and petroleum products to revive different services on the Island. Over years, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation achieved many service and developmental projects that caused a quality improvement in humanitarian assistance in Socotra. Khalifa Foundation was concerned with setting supply and development plans to meet requirements for people of Socotra in different fields.
The United Arab Emirates has afforded great efforts to help people of Socotra in avoiding COVID-19 and making the Island free from Malaria. Khalifa Foundation conducted many precautionary measures in Socotra through the medical team of Khalifa Hospital. It was worth noting that Khalifa Foundation sprayed cities of Socotra and different shops there with sanitizers to avoid spread of COVID-19. In addition, Khalifa Foundation provided Socotra International Airport with state-of-art devices in association with awareness-raising recommendations to raise awareness of people of Socotra in relation with COVID-19.
Presence of the United Arab Emirates in Socotra has been derived from concern and commitment of the United Arab Emirates to helping the least developed countries through provision of humanitarian assistance to meet needs of people in addition to developmental projects to achieve sustainable development goals.
In turn, people of Socotra expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates and Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for the great support to them in all fields at all times.
