In Socotra, the Volleyball Championship was drawn for the governorate’s clubs, with the support of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works.
The draw, which was divided 18 clubs into 4 groups, included the first group (Al-Mina Al-Jazira – Al-Wasl – Al-Nasr), the second group (Radfan – Al-Ettihad – Al-Sadd Al-Helal) and the third group (Al-Ahly – Al-Ain – Al-Wahda – Al-Majd – Dam Al-Akhawin) and the fourth group. (Najm Coastal – Noujd – Sharq – Al-Taliaa – Al-Jamour).
The meeting, led by the President and Secretary-General of the Federation branch and in the presence of club heads, discussed the championship procedures that come in light of the continuous support provided by the Khalifa Foundation to revitalize the sports movement on the island, preserve the youth and hone their skills in various activities.
The meeting approved that the clubs submit lists of names for the participating teams, provided that they do not exceed 30 players for each team, to enable the organizing committee to carry out its own procedures before the start of the tournament tomorrow, Tuesday, on the stadium that has been equipped in Sheikh Zayed Corniche in the capital Hadiboh.
The attendees also valued the role of the Foundation to support sports activity, which comes within its permanent plans to raise youth talents in various activities.
