The University of Socotra Archipelago has launched leadership training courses with the support of the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
30 participants from the leaders of the local authority and the executive offices in the governorate would participate in the course, which would last for two months, with the aim of raising their abilities in the areas of administration, English language and computer leadership.
At the inauguration of the course, Counselor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Moneim explained that the course came in light of Khalifa Foundation’s keenness to rehabilitate the leadership of institutional work on the island and raise their practical efficiency. He pointed out that the course would include lectures in management at its various levels, strategic planning and general planning, as well as in computers and the English language for a period of two months. During the course, the committed participants with a percentage of no less than 85 percent were able to obtain certificates of passing the courses, including the International Computer Driving License.
Raed Al-Juraibi, Senior Deputy Governor, praised the efforts of Khalifa Foundation and its support to hold this course for the governorate’s leaders to develop their capabilities and enhance their skills in management, through which it would contribute to changing the reality of their institutions to a better level in line with the changes in the country and the world and improve the quality of work and service provided. He pointed out that the course was from the most important training course that will have an impact on the governorate level and its various sectors. He noted the activity of the University of Socotra Archipelago in launching rehabilitation activities and its interest in this aspect.
For his part, Brigadier General Saleh Ali Saad urged the participants in the course to make the most of it and to reflect the information and skills they received on the nature of their daily work within the framework of their offices and to work to gain their colleagues modern skills in the administrative aspects to raise the level of their activity as a team.
Undersecretary Saad praised the efforts of the brothers in the UAE for their interest in education and rehabilitation programs for cadres in the governorate, as well as for youth and students in various disciplines and aspects.
The inauguration of the session was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Socotra Archipelago, His Excellency Fadl Al-Saadi, the President of the University, Dr. Nadim Al-Uzaibi, the Chairman of the Development Committee Sultan Ali bin Issa bin Afrar, and a number of general managers.
