Yesterday, Tuesday, University of Socotra concluded the chess competition between its academic departments, which was held over two days with the support of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
Where the student Salim bin Qabalan from the Department of Information Technology won the tournament over the student Abdullah Ali from the Department of Information Systems, and the student Najma Hilal from the Department of Information Technology outperformed Sana Saad from the Department of Business Economics.
At the end of the tournament, the President of the University, Dr. Nadim Al-Ezaibi, said that the university was keen to include the chess competition in its sports activities for the 2021-2022 academic year, as it was one of the best intellectual games that contribute to raising the level of students.
He highlighted that all academic departments at the university participated in this distinct competition between the departments and great follow-up by the university’s employees.
The University of Socotra concluded last week the football championship between the teams of its academic departments, in order to implement its annual plan in all aspects, including sports activities.
