Today, the University of Socotra inaugurated the accreditation of the International Computer Driving License (ICDL v6) program center at the university.
On the sidelines of the inauguration of the university’s center accreditation, Socotra Archipelago University and Maharat Computer Driving Company organized an introductory symposium on the ICDL curriculum, in which the leadership of the local authority, the Transitional Council, university academics and social figures participated.
Where the regional representative of Maharat Computer Driving Company in Yemen, Engineer Adel Nasr Al-Areeqi, handed over the accreditation certificate to the university as an internationally accredited training and testing center.
The head of the local leadership of the Transitional Council, Socotra Governorate, said that the launch of the international license program at the University of Socotra Archipelago is of great importance to students, especially that the university includes the College of Computer and Information Technology, and this allows students to obtain the license from the university, in addition to that the program represents a great opportunity for all students and staff in Various governmental and private sectors to raise their capabilities in this field.
The President of the University also expressed its constant endeavor to develop services for the people of the island and to find for them various rehabilitation programs to raise their scientific competence. He pointed out that our university’s obtaining today an accreditation certificate as one of the ICDL centers is a new success added to the university and to Socotra, as it gives a wider scope for students to benefit from The university and all students of the Socotra archipelago and its public and private sectors.
Raed Al-Juraibi, First Representative of Socotra Governorate, indicated that the inauguration of the international license program at the University of Socotra Archipelago is a great scientific addition to the university and an opportunity for the people of Socotra to obtain the license that contributes and helps them to obtain suitable job opportunities for them. He pointed out that everyone is happy today in this inauguration and the scientific progress that the province was constantly witnessing.
Brigadier Saleh Ali Saad praised the efforts of the University of Socotra and its keenness to open an accredited center for the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) program. In which students devote themselves to courses to obtain a license as a prerequisite for obtaining jobs in light of the continuous scientific progress we live in.
Eng. Adel Al-Areeqi, Representative of Maharat Company, spoke of his happiness to visit Socotra, hand over the accreditation certificate to the University of Socotra Archipelago, and hold an introductory seminar on the ICDL curriculum, followed by a workshop for the ICDL v6 programs.
