In the context of its continuous support and after the success of its previous stages in meeting the requirements of the Socotra family, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation in the Socotra Archipelago has launched the fourth phase of subsidized food distributions in the archipelago.
This comes to alleviate the suffering of citizens from the unprecedented rise in prices due to the instability of the local currency exchange against foreign currencies.
The previous stages witnessed a large demand from the population to obtain their basic food requirements at low prices, which amounted to more than 30% of the value of the local market price.
At the inauguration, which was attended by the head of the local leadership of the Transitional Council in the governorate, Raafat Al-Thaqali, the first representative of the governorate, Raed Al-Jaribi, a member of the Development Committee Salem Daheq, a number of sheikhs and acquaintances of residential centers and social figures, everyone praised the efforts made by the Khalifa Foundation and those in charge of its humanitarian and development activities in the archipelago.
They stressed that the subsidized food distributions had an impact on helping thousands of families in the governorate, which contributed to alleviating many of the difficulties they faced.
Appreciating the positions of the permanent Khalifa Foundation alongside the people of Socotra in implementing various development, relief and service projects that touch their living reality and improve their standard of living.
The basic food distributions supported by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation during the previous stages made a significant contribution to helping families at the governorate level to purchase items at the lowest prices.
