The Socotra General Football Association branch today held the draw for the football league of the deceased Ahmed Abdullah bin Hamdoun for the governorate clubs with the support of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works.
The draw resulted in which the governorate clubs were divided into 4 groups, which were classified according to their levels in the previous tournament. Al-Sharq, Al-Ahly, Dam Al-Akhawain, Al-Sadd, and in the fourth group, Nujed, Al-Nasr, Al-Talia, and Al-Ain.
The head of the Al-Etihad branch, Ahmed Hazoum, explained that the tournament will start next October, and will last for nearly two months at the stadium of the late Saad Ali Salmeen in the capital Hadibuh, with the participation of 17 clubs, after the Al-Majd club was suspended from participating in the Al-Etihad competition for a year.
Where the packs and heads of the clubs valued the efforts made by the Khalifa Foundation to develop sports activity in the governorate.
The meeting discussed a number of points on its agenda and appropriate recommendations were taken.
The meeting resulted in allowing the clubs to register 6 professional players, 3 from the governorate and 3 from outside to strengthen their ranks in the league and to develop the youth’s abilities to acquire some skills with players from outside the governorate.
The meeting was attended by members of the Federation, Ahmed Yahya and Muhammad Bashkeel, and the head of the Referees Committee, Ismail Muhammad.
