The Air Rescue Unit of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation carried out an air sortie in the vicinity of Socotra International Airport to spray pesticides to eliminate harmful flying insects that transmit diseases.
An official said that the implementation of this flight came in response to the calls of the airport workers and the responsible authorities, due to the presence of insects in the area.
He pointed out that appropriate and environmentally friendly pesticides were used, which eliminate harmful insects that help transmit diseases.
During the previous period, the Air Rescue Unit team carried out several intensive air campaigns spraying pesticides to eliminate flying insects, especially to reduce their danger and health impact on humans.
The campaign was welcomed by the public, due to its positive impact on elimination of mosquitoes.
