The UAE Initiative “Suqia Campaign” is a campaign implemented by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation in Socotra to provide areas that suffered from lack of water with potable water through Foundation teams, which worked on delivery of water to different areas and villages across Socotra daily.
Today, Khalifa Foundation delivered water tanks to Qabhaten district, which was considered as one of the most crowded districts on Socotra Island, which suffered from lack of water and payment of large amounts in order to meet their needs for potable water.
Since launch of Suqia Campaign few years ago, Khalifa Foundation mitigated suffering of purchasing potable water to have potable water as other districts.
In turn, the people of Qabhaten expressed their gratitude to the United Arab Emirates and Khalifa Foundation for such support during their suffering from drought due to lack of rain.
