Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation continued its efforts by providing people of Socotra with potable water through Suqia Initiative.
This initiative was largely welcomed by people across Socotra, as water was considered as essential for life. It was worth noting that some areas suffered from drought due to delay of seasonal rain. Therefore, Khalifa Foundation worked on sending water tanks to these areas daily.
Teams of Khalifa Foundation worked on transporting water tanks through rough roads to reach to the remote villages to provide them with water.
Furthermore, Khalifa Foundation contributed to drilling artesian wells in different locations across Socotra with solar-powered pumps to transport potable water from wells to these remote areas.
In turn, people of Socotra expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates and Khalifa Foundation for the great support to help people across the Socotra Archipelago.
It was worth noting that role of the United Arab Emirates in Socotra would not be limited, as it has become in all aspects of life through initiatives and projects to help people of Socotra.
