“Suqia” Humanitarian Initiative seeking for Solutions for Challenges facing People of Socotra

Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation keeps working hard in “Suqia” initiative to ensure water for the disadvantaged areas. It is one of the humanitarian initiatives that is launched by the United Arab Emirates to find solutions for challenges that face the people of Socotra.

This initiative is launched by Khalifa Foundation to support the drought-affected areas and remote ones. It targeted number of remote and crowded areas such as Laska, Mayha, Siko and villages of Dexam yesterday. The amount of water distributed to these areas was 64500 Liters covering the drought-affected districts and villages due to delay of season of rain. It is an annual initiative that helps the people, who in turn expressed their thanks and appreciation to Khalifa Foundation for its great effort. Mohamed Ahmed Said, resident in Laska, said that the district was suffering from drought due to delay of season of rain, and support of the people and leaders of the United Arab Emirates helped in provision of many things to end the suffering.

In this regard, Mubarak Salem Abdehen, Identifier of the district, expressed his thanks and appreciation to Khalifa Foundation for this support and effort.
