In Astero District in Zayed City 1 in the south coast of Socotra, the Second Milking Competition in Al Thafra in Socotra launched under sponsorship of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation with participation of 24 competitor in line with events of Nujed Festival 2020. The Competition was launched in order to encourage owners of camels to take care of their camels, as milking camels was considered as part of the heritage of Socotra.
The Competition Management Committee announced winning of the two camels; Al Debiania and Al Socoatria, after putting two liters by each.
Anbar Al Amri, Head of events associating with Nujed Festival, mentioned that Khalifa Foundation shoed great concern with achievement of better quality of life and maintenance of livestock. It was worth noting that Khalifa Foundation organized the second version of the competition, which witnessed a large number of audience. It asserted that holding such competition would achieve goals of helping the people in relation with taking care of camels. It would also be beneficial for the owners of camels.
In this regard, the winner Ahmed Essa expressed his happiness for winning and participation in this competition. He also thanked Khalifa Foundation for the outstanding support to the heritage of Socotra.
Sheikh Salem Abbas mentioned that the competition has become a feature that would help in preservation of camels thanks to Khalifa Foundation.
Furthermore, Mohamed Agazan, one of participants, expressed his wish of winning the following competition, and congratulated the winner in this version of the Competition. He also thanked the organizing committee for the facilitation.
Om Ahmed, Hajna, who was one of the participants, expressed her thanks and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates represented by Khalifa Foundation.
