The cleaning campaign in Hadiboh, implemented by Development Committee at Khalifa Foundation, was largely welcomed by the people of Socotra, and achieved a great success. The campaign was largely welcomed by the media and people across the Island. Many social influencers, people of Socotra, and security and military leaders participated in removal of all plastic and paper waste and different types of waste across streets of Hadiboh.
The participants highlighted that the campaign was very successful and contributed to raising awareness of the people in relation with the environmental aspect in addition to the importance of the volunteering activities on the Island. In addition, it contributed to raising awareness of the importance of preservation of clean environment among all groups of community.
The reaction of the people towards the campaign was very impressing. They expressed their thanks and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates and Khalifa Foundation for the outstanding developmental acheivements in addition to its role in education, health and service aspects.
