Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital carried out 120 operations by a Syrian specialized surgeon. Socotra Online followed up the event and met Dr. Samer Mahmoud, General Surgeon. During the meeting, Dr. Samer expressed his thanks and appreciation to Khalifa Foundation for its support to Khalifa Hospital with the latest medical devices. He assured that during this year, 120 significant operations and 100 minor operations were carried out including cholecystectomy, splenectomy etc.
Dr. Samer said that the child Amna for example was suffering from birth hernia, and it was cauterized by her grandmother, but she suffered from complications in the small intestine. She was subjected to evisceration and then was followed up until complete recovery.
In this regard, her grandmother said that she came to Khalifa Hospital with her grandchild and the operation was carried out urgently. The grandmother thanked the United Arab Emirates and expressed her appreciation to the support of Khalifa Hospital. In addition, she thanked Dr. Samer Mahmoud for his effort.
