The management of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital in Socotra Governorate organized a celebration to honor its employees, on the occasion of the International Nursing Day.
This came to recall the importance of the nursing profession and to clarify the role and contributions nurses make to all societies.
This celebration also came amid the efforts of the health care sector for patients in the hospital, which was the most humane profession.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the participants stood for a minute of silence for the soul of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, May God rest his soul.
Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Fattah Khallaf, the Director General of the hospital, said that our shared responsibility is to recognize the dedicated services of the nursing staff, for their efforts and sacrifices, despite the risks and difficulties they face, and they did not retreat from answering the call and their humanitarian duty in light of the conditions the world is going through.
Khallaf affirmed his happiness in honoring our nurse staff who did their best to stand side by side with the medical staff to raise the level of medical services provided to citizens, wishing the continuation of this effort and the high level while working to improve the quality of nursing services.
Salem Saleh Al-Hamid, Director of Human Resources at the hospital, said that nursing was one of the noble professions that affects the lives of patients, and its providers were distinguished by compassion, humanity and giving. He also pointed out that the role of nursing is not limited to curative services only, as they actively participate in providing preventive services, stressing that the nursing team is the main pillar of services that were given to patients. Al-Hamid extended his thanks and appreciation to the management of Sheikh Khalifa Socotra Hospital and all employees for their efforts to serve the human being, saying, “You have proven that you are the first line of defense for the health and safety of the Socotra citizen and your high ability to assume responsibility, and to overcome this difficult period, with what God has blessed you with knowledge and ability to give and work.” This is not new to you.
Dr. Khallaf handed appreciation certificates and sums of money to the honored nurses, expressing his high appreciation for their efforts over the previous periods.
