The people of the Socotra Archipelago celebrated Eid Al Fitr with atmosphere of joy and happiness in coinciding of this great spiritual occasion. The whole people of Socotra came out for Eid prayer to thank Allah and pray for forgiveness and tolerance after fasting during Ramadan.
The whole praying people listened to the speech of Sheikh Ali Ibrahim Al Taqli, who assured the importance of linking and visiting relatives during Eid, and highlighted the necessity of continuation of good deeds of Ramadan after its ending. In addition, he expressed refusal of religious extremism.
Mohamed Salem Al Selimi expressed to Socotra Online a congratulation to the Eid of Al Fitr to all people of Socotra and brothers in the United Arab Emirates, which helped the people of Socotra during Ramadan. In addition, Khalifa Foundation provided many financial assistances to the elderly, people with determination and widows.
He added that the people of Socotra always try to keep customs and traditions by visiting the people, relatives, neighbors and friends. He also thanked every person provided the people with all possible assistances.
Mr. Saad Salem Mohamed Adrahen praised the role of the United Arab Emirates in helping the people of Socotra to achieve stability.
While Sheikh Said Suliman bin Qatehen said that there is a difference between Eid last years and this year. The people are preparing and painting their homes and purchase juices and carpets. He also highlighted the role of the people and leaders of the United Arab Emirates represented by Khalifa Foundation contributing to stability of life of the people of Socotra.
