The Operations Department of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital in Socotra Governorate performed 3,000 different surgeries during the past year 2021.
It works at a high pace and is continuously active after being equipped with the latest medical devices, which contributed to raising the accuracy, success and speed of conducting major operations that the hospital has been conducting since last year.
The endoscope was one of the modern and qualitative devices provided by the Khalifa Foundation to the Operations Department of the hospital, which, along with many smart technologies, contributed to developing the skills of the medical staff and achieving outstanding success rates in the overall health and medical services provided by the hospital.
The supervisor of the Operations Department, Ahmed Abdullah, indicated that endoscopic operations have become the alternative to many operations that required a large wound and several days in the hospital. He also pointed out that endoscopic operations are performed through small holes in the abdominal wall, the length of which does not exceed one centimeter, through which the surgeon could insert The tools needed to perform the operation with the help of a television screen, after which the patient can be discharged from the hospital within a day or two with small scars that gradually disappear over time.
