The new expansion of the Sheikh Zayed Electricity Project 5, which was carried out by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, has won wide praise from the leadership of the local authority and the local community in the areas of the West Coast for its efforts to connect the electrical current to Sheikh Zayed neighborhood for the first time.
The new expansion included the introduction of electricity in the Sheikh Zayed neighborhood in the western coastal strip, and work is still underway to introduce other areas in the coastal zone to meet the people’s need to serve electricity, which is one of the basic and important services in human life.
Socotra Online was present at the opening of the expansion, during which it monitored the impression of the leadership of the local authority, the Transitional Council, the sheikhs and the local community. Sheikh Zayed 5 for the Year of Tolerance, which includes the coastal strip areas from the northwestern side of the island. Pointing out that the new expansion today worked on lighting the Sheikh Zayed neighborhood for the first time.
Brigadier General Al-Dexami praised the efforts of the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for its continuous support and implementation of service projects that meet the needs of the Socotra citizen of basic services.
Meanwhile, Raed Al-Juraibi, Senior Undersecretary of Socotra Governorate, confirmed that what was inaugurated today is a new achievement in the development and service achievements provided by the UAE to Socotra Governorate, and it is the dream of the people of Sheikh Zayed neighborhood that has lasted for many years.
Salem Daheq Ali, Vice-Chairman of the Development Committee, touched on the importance of the new expansion of the West Coast Electricity Project in delivering electricity to the Zayed neighborhood, which has been in need of this service for years due to the population density that characterizes the neighborhood. Everyone added today, with happiness and joy, the delivery of electricity, which is still continuing in the process of expansion to include the rest of the areas along the coast.
The Sheikh of Socotra sheikhs, Sheikh Suleiman Shalulha, indicated that we are pleased with the participation of the people of Sheikh Zayed neighborhood in opening the electrical current service to the neighborhood, which comes within the efforts of the Khalifa Foundation and its keenness to introduce the service to all coastal areas.
The identifier of the areas of the western coastal strip, Muhammad Salem, said the opening of the new extension of the electricity of the west coast of the island comes in light of the interest of the Khalifa Foundation and its keenness to illuminate the archipelago, including the areas of the west coast, which witnessed the completion of previous stages of the project for the first time. Pointing out that the regions will enjoy the support of the brothers with development and service projects in the coming period, which will work to bring about a shift in the infrastructure, especially the service ones.
Sheikh Hamad Ali Saleh bin Ahmed, Sheikh Zayed neighborhood, expressed his happiness with the arrival of the electric current to the neighborhood, which is something that made everyone happy because of the importance of electricity and a basic service to the life of the citizen. Sheikh bin Ahmed thanked the United Arab Emirates for their continuous support to Socotra, enhancing service and development aspects, and changing people’s lives for the better.
Sheikh Aref Saeed indicated that connecting the electric current to Sheikh Zayed neighborhood brought joy and happiness to all the people who had waited for this service for a long time, and it was achieved by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, which was distinguished by its continuous giving stemming from the love and appreciation of the people of the island.
Citizen Issa Ali Saleh said that the happiness that was drawn today to the residents of Sheikh Zayed neighborhood is very great after lighting the neighborhood for the first time thanks to the efforts and support of the Khalifa Foundation, and efforts are still continuing to connect the current to other villages, and this is an achievement that has not been achieved in the history of the archipelago.
The citizen Mubarak Ali Saleh expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Khalifa Foundation for completing the first phase of delivering the electric current to Sheikh Zayed neighborhood, and the engineering teams are still working to complete the delivery of the electric current to the homes that did not have electricity so that everyone can enjoy this service.
