During the following few days, Socotra will witness the most important service projects, which is operation of the first solar power station supported by the Emirates Red Crescent.
Engineer Rafiq Aziz, Representative of Scan Company, the implementing company, said that they were about completion of concrete and steel structure to fix the cells for Zayed Station 1 –Year of Tolerance in Hadiboh. The operational capacity of this first power station would be 2.5 Mega, which would largely contribute to overcome the lack of power in Hadiboh and neighboring areas.
He assured that they would commence working in Sheikh Zayed Station 4 –Year of Tolerance in Qalansiyah during the following period in line with the efforts of the Emirates Red Crescent in coverage of Socotra with the alternative energy. This project was expected to be completed by the middle of the following year 2020.
