Socotra.. Distributing a new batch of agricultural seedlings to farmers

As part of the efforts made in the agricultural sector in the archipelago, the agricultural team of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has launched the distribution of a new batch of agricultural seedlings to farmers in Socotra Governorate.

The distribution process, which took place in the Majlis of Sultan Ali Issa bin Afrar, witnessed the presence and participation of large figures, sheikhs, tribes, regions and social figures at the island level.

The number of seedlings distributed yesterday, in the presence of Sheikh Ali bin Issa bin Afrar, the Chairman of the Development Committee, reached 10,000 seedlings of vegetables and fruits, which were distributed to farmers with the aim of encouraging them to farm and enhancing their agricultural production to contribute to securing healthy food for their families.

In the inauguration of the distribution, a member of the Development Committee Salem Daheq said that we are happy today in the Development Committee to distribute seedlings to a number of farmers on the island, where the distribution was focused on the farmers of the Nujed and the eastern districts with the aim of developing the local communities in them by encouraging them to grow various types of vegetables and fruits and to provide safe food and healthy for their families.

Daheq praised the continuous efforts of the Khalifa Foundation to advance the agricultural sector and encourage people to grow various types of crops.

For his part, citizen Saeed Jamaan Saeed pointed out the efforts of the Khalifa Foundation team in distributing agricultural seedlings to farmers, which is an important step in creating awareness for the people about the importance of agriculture and its role in securing healthy food for the Socotra community.

Citizen Muhammad Ali expressed his happiness at his presence in the Majlis of Sultan Ali bin Issa bin Afrar to receive agricultural seedlings of various types of vegetables and fruits for distribution to the people of the Berada area as a first stage.

He appreciated the role of the Khalifa Foundation and its continuous cooperation with the people of Socotra in various fields.

It was noteworthy that the agricultural team at the Khalifa Foundation was in constant contact with farmers to ensure the safety of their cultivation and to provide agricultural guidance to Socotra farmers.
