Yesterday evening, the contract for the qualifiers for the Golden Square was completed in the Socotra Football Seven-side Tournament and the Ramadan Volleyball Tournament, which was organized by the Football Federation Office in the Governorate, with the support of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
In the Seven-side Football Championship on the first day of the quarter-finals, Radfan and Al-Ahly clubs qualified after their victory over Etoile du Sahel and the crowd, respectively, with the same result, with two goals to one in each match. On the second day, Nujed and Al-Talia clubs qualified after the first crushed Al-Wahda by five goals to two goals. The last island with three goals to two goals.
In the volleyball tournament, Al-Jamhour and Al-Wasl clubs reached the quarter-finals of the first day’s competitions, after they overcame Al-Ahly and Al-Sadd by two rounds. They will face each other in the golden square of the tournament this evening, Monday.
The quarter-final matches witnessed a large crowd from various cities and regions of Socotra to enjoy the excitement of the matches and the football creativity presented by the club’s stars that quenches the thirst of the masses yearning for such strong football competitions.
