The people of the Socotra Archipelago were waiting in concern with conflicted news about the hitting the coastlines with “Keyarr” cyclone due to climate instability. The people of Socotra were called to avoid leaving homes during the period of the cyclone to save their lives and take care, as they should not leave homes unless for emergency. In addition, they should avoid standing near electricity poles and trees to avoid their falling due to the strong wind.
In addition, there were intensive preparations to face all possibilities and emergencies. Sheikh Khalifa Hospital announced that it was ready for any emergency that might result from “Keyarr” cyclone. In addition, the Hospital announced that all doctors and nurses were ready with quick response in case of emergency.
Ahmed Khalaf, Director of Sheikh Khalifa Hospital said that the Hospital was ready with all medical team to face any emergency, and highlighted that the main team would be present in Hadiboh and its suburbs distributed to the eastern and western regions to provide help.
In this regard, Ahmed Ali, head of nurses in Khalifa Hospital, said that the Hospital was ready for providing all emergency requirements to save people’s life and face “Keyarr” cyclone.
Cyclones are storms with a spiral air movement that come above seas or tropical oceans towards the land and cause damages, and their movement might reach to 72 miles and sometimes 180 miles for days.
