Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in Socotra announced arrival of the first batch of COVID-19 vaccine (Senopharm). An official at the Hospital indicated that the vaccine that was delivered, supported by Khalifa Foundation, included 60,000 doses. Vaccination would start on Thursday 17/06/2021. It would target all categories of people.
The Official mentioned that Khalifa Foundation was concerned with providing the vaccine for all people of Socotra to prevent spread of COVID-19.
Several medical entities asserted that vaccines, in general, would protect people, children and adults from viruses, but this vaccine would provide people with an ammunition against COVID-19 virus.
