The UAE support has been continuous to the Socotra Archipelago, as Khalifa Foundation refurbished and modified several internal dust roads in Qalansiyah and paved Shata road leading to Saara District.
Salem Al Darehi, executive supervisor of project, asserted that the refurbishment and modification of the road were in line with several developmental projects to help people of Socotra, and added that the project would be completed through refurbishment of main dust roads in Qalansiyah, which would be considered as the second biggest city in Socotra. He added that such operations would participate in facilitation of traffic. He also mentioned that there were other several projects that would be completed within the following months.
In turn, people of Qalansiyah expressed their gratitude and appreciation for such humanitarian and charity activities that would revive the island.
