Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation in cooperation with cleaning office in Qalansiyah and Abd Al Kuri organized a cleaning campaign titled “Towards Clean Socotra” in coinciding with Eid Al Adha.
The campaign, in which representatives of local authorities, security men and group of citizens participated, aimed at removal of waste gathered due to strong wind season in the Archipelago during Autumn.
Lieutenant Salem Said Mater, Acting Director General of Qalansiyah Security Forces, said that cleaning was a great and elevated behavior to save the community clean with beautiful appearance. He praised the role of Khalifa Foundation in community initiatives that contributed to awareness-raising.
It was worth noting that the campaign started a year ago, and was considered as one of the main initiatives that efficiently contributed to improvement of public appearance and awareness-raising among the people.
A large group of citizens participated in the campaign, and in turn expressed their appreciation to Khalifa Foundation for this initiative that helped in improvement of team work spirit among the people.
