Potable Water for Remote Areas in Socotra by Khalifa Foundation

Teams of Khalifa Foundation reached to Amdahen, Qabhaten, and Western Coastline in Socotra for delivery of potable water to the people who were suffering from lack of potable and healthy water in line with Suqia Campaign.

Since launch of the campaign, it has witnessed positive feedback by the people of Socotra, who asserted that the United Arab Emirates has been known as hand of charity and giving led by the wise leaders reflecting unique world model of charity and humanitarian activities. The quick positive feedback by the people of Socotra proved the noble and genuine nature of the people of Socotra. Furthermore, the campaign was largely welcomed at regional and global levels.

Team of Khalifa Foundation asserted that the water tanks would be sent every day to different places across Socotra to help the people in arrangement of required water in areas suffering from lack of water due to late rain.

Upon arrival, people of these districts expressed their happiness and thanked team of Khalifa Foundation for sending such tanks every day during such hard time. Lack of water was a nightmare, as studies proved that a child would die every 21 seconds due to water-linked disease, and 9,863 people would die daily because of thirst or water-linked diseases.
