In a humanitarian initiative that reflect the UAE humanitarian role in the Socotra Archipelago, medical teams, that were delegated from the UAE, continued welcoming people of Socotra to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Khalifa bin Zayed Hospital in the capital of Socotra (Hadiboh) witnessed a large turnover of people from villages and coastal areas in response to the vaccination campaign against COVID-19, which was supported by the Emirates Red Crescent.
Dr. Mohamed Saleh, Member of the medical team, asserted that the large turnover of people for vaccination, and added that the team would be ready to absorb large number of people, as the vaccination process was easy. He also called people for utilization of this opportunity.
In turn, Faiz Saad Al Ghatatny expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates and the Emirates Red Crescent for the contribution to vaccinating the people of Socotra against COVID-19.
Tolba Mehani Tolba, an Egyptian residing at Socotra, indicated, upon being vaccinated, that this humanitarian initiative was honorable, and expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the UAE and the Emirates Red Crescent.
Mr. Fahmi Al Theqali expressed happiness of people for getting this vaccine that would contribute to limitation of spread of COVID-19. He also added that efforts of the UAE in the medical sector were tangible and clear.
