In line with the concern of reviving humanity and giving activities in addition to the objective of development of the Archipelago, Khalifa Foundation continued its humanitarian and developmental role, which would contribute to end isolation of Socotra.
The Foundation worked on supporting the Archipelago in provision of all services and facilities in all sectors including the developmental projects in Qalansiyah.
Socotra Online met group of people and residents in order to reflect their opinions:
Sheikh Mohamed Ali bin Okail, Imam of a mosque in Qalansiyah, said that the UAE support to the Archipelago was not new, as the relationship between the two people went back to the 60s. He highlighted that the United Arab Emirates was the second home of the people of Socotra because of the historical bond between the people.
In a meeting with Sheikh Moahmed Hawal tackling the projects supported by Khalifa Foundation, he assured that the people suffering would end with time because of the projects supported by Khalifa Foundation that facilitated most of services.
Socotra Online met Mr. Mubarak Ahmed Abdullah, one of employees of Education Office in Qalansiyah, who expressed his thanks and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates for the support to the Archipelago in general and Qalansiyah in particular, since Qalansiyah did not have any service projects that keep up with the age.
At the end of the meeting, he said that while Yemen was busy in war, the United Arab Emirates was the one which treated and encouraged the people.
While moving around in streets of Qalansiyah, we met Mr. Said Saad Al Saidhi, resident in Qalansiyah, who expressed his thanks and appreciation to Khalifa Foundation for the developmental projects. He also expressed his happiness for the service projects and achievements including provision of gas, gasoline and diesel, electricity and other facilities that the people were in need for them.
