Group of international handcraft artists from Ukraine, Italy and Sudan presented a great participation in Nujed Culture and Heritage Festival. The artists encouraged the handcraft people of Socotra to improve their handcraft works and learned them new skills to help them in highlighting their products.
Khalifa Foundation facilitated the participation of the international artists by entering them as tourists to Socotra to help the people to learn new skills and acquire large experience.
Socotra Online was present to reflect the opinion of the audience. Sheikh Ghanem Saeed Al Zahqi, Identifier of Nujed, mentioned that the handcrafts were very important in Socotra, and the people of Socotra welcomed the international trainers who came to Socotra from Ukraine, Italy and Sudan to give them more experience and skills. He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for the great concern with the heritage and development of community of Socotra. He also thanked the leaders and people of the United Arab Emirates.
In this regard, Shaimaa Waheed, head of Woman Heritage Association, highlighted the importance of the handcrafts in Socotra, and highlighted that Khalifa Foundation always concerned with the heritage of Socotra for its revival and preservation. She also thanked the United Arab Emirates and Khalifa Foundation for the great chance of meeting those skilled foreign artists to acquire large experience and new skills.
She concluded her speech with thanking Khalifa Foundation for facilitation participation of the international foreign artists to help them in promoting their skills and marketing their products in order that Socotra could be a destination for local, Arab and international tourists.
