Yesterday Football Association Office in Socotra organized the 4th Ironman Competition with support of Khalifa Foundation, in which 36 competitors from different clubs across Socotra participated. The launch of competition was in Socotra Port, which was launched by Sultan Ali bin Essa bin Afrar. Competitors participated in 300m swimming, 3km marathon to Prime Fish Factory, 7km bike riding to the Late Saad Ali Salimeen Playground in Hadiboh.
Abdel Nasser Khamis Othman, competitor from Al Minaa Club, won the first position, while Mohamed Abdel Majeed Shabaan and Ali Salem Habhel won the second and third positions respectively.
During conclusion of competition, Engineer Raafat Al Thaqli, Head of Southern Transitional Council; Sultan Ali bin Essa bin Afrar; Captain Ismail Al Junaibi; and Counselor Ahmed Abdel Moniem honored the winners of the first, second and third positions.
Ahmed Hazoom, Head of the Organizing Committee and Head of Football Association Office in Socotra, asserted that competition was successfully organized with large and distinguished audience. He also commended support of Khalifa Foundation for the great effort and concern with improvement of skills of the youth of Socotra.
He also commended efforts of Khalifa Foundation for arrangement of necessary requirements, and great effort of the organizing committee.
