With support of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, the Traffic Department in Socotra was opened after its rehabilitation and supporting with updated devices including the vehicle plates numbering device and electronic vehicle title issue device as well as furniture yesterday.
Brigadier General Ahmed Saad Al Qadomi, Director General of Police Force, confirmed that the UAE support was not the first and would not be considered as the last to different sections of Police Force. The United Arab Emirates worked on saving security and maintenance of safety in Socotra through rehabilitation of security department and providing it with devices and vehicles.
Colonel Mohamed Abdullah Al Asmi, Deputy Director General of Police Force, commended the outstanding UAE support to the Police Force and highlighted that the new devices would work on organizing traffic and recognizing violators. He also highlighted that the vehicle plate numbering and electronic vehicle title issue devices were the first of kind in the Socotra Archipelago, and it was in extent of the generous UAE support to the people of Socotra.
Lieutenant Colonel Mubarak Suliman, Director General of Traffic Department, commended the UAE support to the Traffic Department in addition to providing the vehicle plate numbering device.
