Nujed Club surpassed Al-Wehda Club by three goals to two as part of the opening matches of the first round of the Fifth Edition of Sheikh Zayed Football Championship, organized by the Football Association in Socotra with the support of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
The match witnessed a great rivalry between the two clubs since its inception to achieve a positive result at the beginning of their career in the championship, but their defensive keenness ended the first half with a negative tie, and in the second half, Noujd Club surprised its opponent with an early goal in the 53rd minute, carrying the signature of the player Salem Abdullah to ignite the match, then Adel Al-Wahda scored the result in the 56th minute through its striker Ahmed Saad. Two minutes later, Nujed Club advanced again by scoring the second goal with the foot of its player Ali Awad. Al-Wehda club tried again to find a tie and return to the match and pressed the Nujed goal until he crowned his efforts in the 66th minute with a goal scored by Abdullah Saad. Omar to return the match to its beginning, then, in the 83rd minute, Nujed club managed to shake the net for Al-Wehda for the third time through the player Salim Abdullah to maintain the result and end the meeting by winning the match by three goals to two goals and topping the second group with 3 points.
In the second match and within the first round competitions of the same group, Al-Majd Club managed to equalize Al-Ain Club with two goals each and share the match points.
In the second half, and from a beautiful attack, Al Ain Club announced the first goal, scored by striker Saad Ahmed Noah, in the 56th minute, but Al Ain’s joy of progress did not extend long after Al-Majd striker Mohammed Jamaan scored the goal of tie in the 62nd minute, which increased the pace of the match until Al Ain succeeded in the 80th minute to advance once. Another goal was scored from a penalty kick, which was successfully scored by Abdullah Ali, before Al-Majd striker Muhammad Jamaan returned to score the second goal for him and his team. The match ended with a positive tie, two goals for two goals, and the points were shared.
The match was attended by Mr. Ahmed Hazoum, Head of Football Association in Socotra; Saleh Ali, Secretary General of the Football Association in Socotra; and Salma bin Qablan, a Financial Officer; in addition to a number of club presidents, sports leaders and a large crowd of fans.
