Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation launched the first phase of arrangement of requirements for Abd Al Kuri Island for the next autumn today. The first phase of assistance included different food items such as (sugar, flour, rice, oil, and tomato).
During launch of distribution of assistance, Raafat Al Theqali, Head of Transitional Council in Socotra, thanked Khalifa Foundation for such kind and generous initiative, as the Foundation used to help people of Socotra in different fields. He also asserted that such assistance would be effective in mitigating suffers of people of Socotra.
In turn, Sheikh Ghaleb Al Gamhi, Director General of Abd Al Kuri Island, expressed gratitude and appreciation to Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for the generous support. He also highlighted that such assistance was the first phase, and following with further phase for the next week to arrange food requirements.
In turn, Ali Abdullah Ahmed, resident in Al Tawahi, expressed happiness of people of Abd Al Kuri for arrival of the first batch of UAE assistance to provide people of Abd Al Kuri with food requirements for the next autumn.
It was worth noting that Khalifa Foundation arranged food and medicine requirements for autumn to avoid bad weather and seasonal wind, which would hinder ships from arriving to the Island.
