On Janoti playground in the south of Qarra in Socotra, the Tolerance Football Championship launched with support of Khalifa Foundation and participation of 9 teams from different places across Socotra (Shoala, Etihad, Al Saker, Al Nassr, Al Shamsan, Al Tadamon, Al Ain, Al Shalal, and Qarra). The Championship aimed at encouraging the youth to exercise sports, especially football, in addition to spreading the concept of tolerance and cooperation with their positive effect in relation with building the community and developing it. The match between Al Shoala and Al Shamsan was the first match during the Championship, and all teams attended the match with the official uniform, which reflected the deep love of the people of Qarra to sports in general and football in particular.
Ismail Al Junaibi, Sports Official at Khalifa Foundation, assured that launching this Championship in Qarra was in line with instructions of His Excellency Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Representative of Khalifa Foundation, in order to motivate sport activities across the Socotra Archipelago and support and strengthen capabilities of the youth.
In this regard, Omar Salem Noah, head of the organizing committee, highlighted the importance of this Championship in gathering the people of Qarra, and commended the support of Khalifa Foundation and its Representative, His Excellency Khalfan Al Mazrouei.
