Socotra Governorate witnesses preparations and arrangements for launch of the new project “Solar Power Station”, which is the first of kind on the Island. This phase includes establishment of foundation, on which the station will be constructed.
This project is considered as one of the most important future projects adopted by Khalifa Foundation aiming at preservation of electricity and in turn improvement of quality of life of the people of Socotra.
It is worth noting that “Masadar”, the UAE company, is the main developer of the project, which works on high capabilities in power industry. Khalifa Foundation contracted with main companies to implement the project, since it is considered as one of the most important projects in the Socotra Archipelago, such as Scan Electromechanical works and Dexim Power and Water Technology. Dexim Power has a significant experience in the field of power and electricity.
The announcement of establishment of this station by Khalifa Foundation was largely welcomed by the people of Socotra since the Island suffers from lack of electricity.
