Within events of Sheikh Zayed Festival in Socotra, milkers competition was launched with support of Khalifa Foundation.
Mr. Anbar Al Ameri, Coordinator and Official-in-charge of Events of Sheikh Zayed Festival, asserted that launch of this competition was in line with instructions of His Excellency Khalfan bin Mubarak Al Mazrouei. He also asserted that it would witness high participation, as it aimed at promotion and encouragement of owners of camels to take care of them.
Mohamed Thani, Member of Judgment Committee in Camel Milkers Competition, mentioned that the competition was launched with 38 participants of camel owners. It would be the third edition in Sheikh Zayed Festival. He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Khalifa Foundation for revival of heritage of Socotra to be transferred from one generation to another.
Abdullah Selim, Father of Ali Abdullah Selim, who won the first position; expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates represented by Khalifa Foundation for the great support.
Sheikh Mohamed Salem Al Kaibani indicated that this competition has become a remark of maintaining and taking care of camels by the owner thanks to Khalifa Foundation.
