The spraying campaign in areas and cities of the Socotra Archipelago launched by Khalifa Foundation was largely welcomed by people of Socotra, as it aimed at controlling flying insects, especially disease-carrying mosquitoes.

In turn, people of Socotra expressed their gratitude and appreciation to Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for the great effort in all aspects.
An official at Khalifa Foundation highlighted that the campaign would last for two months divided into two phases using the gyrocopter for cities and valleys as well as spraying in transportation means.
The field and air operations team asserted that they would be ready for affording their best efforts to achieve the goal of the campaign after spread of mosquitoes across the Island.
